    These cliff faces, painted by the ancient Flathead  Tribe long before other tribes inhabited the area, are only accessible by water.  Drive, float or paddle your Flathead Boat Rentals and Rides boat Northeast from  BigArm to the Eastern tip of Wild Horse  Island, then head due North past Cedar and Shelter Islands. Painted Rocks is an  auburn colored notch, animal and animorph collection of paintings just North of  Cedar island.
